Crossbreeds and Credibility

 

The first crossbreeds I can remember are the Cockapoos and the Pekapoos .They became popular very fast .Too many breeders however got in on the band wagon and started using things like "soon to be a breed" ,"reconized breed' , 'breed' ,'conformation' ...and the standard tactic of sales "registered' .

Although the Cockapoo Clubs are very good indeed  and help alot with that particular crossbreed ,breeders wanting to get in on the 'what is popular ' almost destroyed the breeding of crossbreeds and espically the cockapoo and pekapoo .

And cockapoos and pekapoos lost favor among the public also . The breeders ,alot of them that were not dedicated lost credibility by using the tatics of sales and by not taking care in what they bred and alot of other issues as well and if not for the clubs for the cockapoo and hard work by those breeders that were dedicated to it ,more than apt the cockapoo would not still be around .

Which is why now in the last few years you see more and more Maltipoo ,Shihpoo,Bichonpoo, Yorkiepoo  and other crossbreeders such as Puggle breeders coming out of the woodwork .

Some ,are great breeders and breed crossbreeds for the right reason ,they never spout sales tactics and tell you the truth of what you are getting .

Read their sites ,check with the club that is associated with each crossbreed and if not one ,ask why not ? and the www.bbb.org  ...there is always some breeder  out there with a 'better deal'  but are you sure you are getting the 'better breeder ? ' ....
