Cute Puppy Syndrome ...

Most breeders count on you seeing a puppy ,thinking it cute ,then without thought or care ..you buy it .

Well...don't .

First ,talk it over with your family .A dog or Cat is a huge responsibility . Someone has to take it for walks ,play with it ,feed and water it ,groom it ,take it to the vet ,train it and none of these things can be forgotten .

A dog cannot stay in one place all day like a cage .They have to have exercise and eat and sleep and they have the need for love and companionship the same as we humans do .Only their needs are like a baby , for they cannot go to the frig and get a cool glass of water ,you have to do that for them ,they cannot go shopping and buy dinner ,you have to do that .

A dog becomes a member of your family ,not a postscript. They are your friend ,your companion ,your child ,your dependable one that greets you each day after a hard day at work .

They share in the joys and the woes ,so they cannot be abandoned simply because you move or because you get married or have a child . They need to become a part of all that you do in change and that is important when looking for a pet .

Make sure that you have the time ,the patience ,the energy and the love needed to make all changes in your life to accomadate your new friend and make sure that if you are planing change that the change includes them also .

If you already have children ,you are adding another ,be ready for that all the life of the pet because they never grow up and leave you to go to college or to get married and move away .They stay with you for life .

So ,don't buy on a whim or for a present unless the person knows and has thought of all these issues and accepts the present  with full knowlege and care .

it is always best first to look into your local shelters and see if there is a dog or cat that needs a home and has been abandoned and try to adopt ,however if you just have to have a puppy ,make sure you are ready for it .

You will receive in turn love so pure and so devoted that you could not possibly understand until you are there .

But get one for the right reasons and make sure that you want it .

A pet is for life .Even after they cross the bridge ,the memory ,the love ...well....it remains .

Don't get me wrong ,I am a breeder and would love to sell you a pet .But I want mine to be where they are happy and kept healthy .I want my customers to be a part of my life because my puppy surely is .

I talk to them before they are born ,I kiss them after they are born and touch and hold and hold my moms and dads too.

I just do not want them to go on a whim or a place to where they are not welcome for over the first few days they are there . I want them to be as much a part of you as they are of me and that is the difference in one breeder and another .

Before you buy ....make sure you have made the right decision .

After all ........The decision is yours to make .
