Beware of this Type Breeder ..

Recently I was looking on a website and saw that a breeder had a dog on her  home page that was about 9 months old for sale by the owner .

Curious to know why the breeder did not take the puppy back herself ,because I thought it was her puppy if she had it advertised on her site ,I wrote to the owner and ask who was the breeder .

Lo and behold I recieved an email stating that the breeder 's friend had sold it to them ,who also was a breeder . This is the letter .I xx'ed out names ,read my comments at the end ..

"We purchased Toby from a breeder in Tennessee, a friend of xxxxxxx on whose website we are advertising him.  His mother is Mindy...one of xxxxxx breeding mini-poodles.  He is a first-generation MaltiPoo, meaning his mom is a mini-poodle and his dad a Maltese."
 
 
Now ...I had seen on the webiste a few months before that "Mindy' had a litter in June o6 and was expecting to breed again in December 06 .
This pup for sale was born almost 6 to 7  months before , that meant that the mother 'Mindy ' had been bred by another breeder's dog and the breeder that owned 'Mindy"  had bred her 3 times in a year and a half ..no rest period at all .
Plus ,aparently the owner of "Mindy' was letting the other breeder sell the puppies so that she would not have to put them on her site .Her site says that she breds once and rests a heat ,then breeds again ..There was NO rest period for 'Mindy' that I can find .
But this can and was easily hidden because another 'friend ' ...'breeder' breeds her in between and sells the pups .
Remember ,if a breeder says "I have a friend that has maltipoos or any other type puppy ' something could be ,not always but could be very wrong . So be nosey and look for clues ,ask questions .
Breeders can hide what they do easily and some are very good at it .Then ,if they put down another breeder ,always call or talk to that breeder and simply ask why one would put them down .More than apt it is one of three reasons ..
1..simple competion...this is rare now ,use to be the better of the breeders stood together and fought the fight ,now they tend to bad mouth each other to  sell,sell ,sell..
2 ..they know for a fact the breeder isn't what they claim and must prove it ,a breeder simply cannot say 'I would not buy one there and let it go ,they need to tell you why and then you need to check that out " ...If they say that ,then say "I have a friend " Beware and be more aware of what they are saying .Yes ,breeders can have friends .I have friends that breed .However ,my friends don't breed MY dogs and sell them so I can keep them off my site and seem to be what I am not . Nor would I let them do so .
3...or trying to destroy without proof to build a clientel. This is someone that takes a dislike of a person for whatever reason they have and tries to destroy them so they can be higher maybe in rankings in search engines or just because they are that type person .
This last two resons are more common .Simple competition hardly exist anymore . Breeders are so out to get one another they cannot see where they go wrong ..which is why I watch and why I do not have many breeders I would reference . And I would NEVER reference one that does not have a site on the net and me have a link saying "Click here for another breeder or something similar ...I see so many games played by breeders like the one above .
So be careful and be extra leary of  someone that  says on their site ..I breed this or that only once a year ..and "I have a friend that breeds but they don't have a site or they are this or that "
Too many people buy without reading and really looking .Take a look ,call and talk to different breeders and whatever you do Beware ! If they have a friend that 'just happens' to have a maltipoo or any other type dog and there is no link to that person on their site ,Beware Bigtime !
