THis page consists of 2 parts.First part is why a breeder and not a broker or pet store.Second part is what we do to ensure the health of our puppies .

 

Part 1...

Breeder vs Broker

First we would say Poos-4-U is not and never will be a broker .We do not 'find ' you a puppy in another state .All puppies from Poos-4-U are bred here and raised here .

A breeder is a person that actually breeds a sire and dam to get puppies .That is what we do .

A broker is a person that buys puppies cheap ,sells them to pet stores or to people for a profit .Most brokers can buy by the litter .So they buy and resale .We do not deal with brokers and or pet stores .

Brokers also have sites up and sell puppies that belong to breeders .They advertise as a boutique or other but if they are selling a puppy that they did not raise ,they are brokers .

PART 2 ...

Health Issues from birth to when you recieve your puppy .

Many times I have heard 'I can get a maltipoo/maltepoo cheaper somewhere else "

Well ....that is YOUR choice and you usually get what you pay for .

Now with a broker you rarely ever know who the breeder is ,whether the puppy is actually what they claim it to be or health records .Sure ,some have a vet that will look the puppy over ,but that is NOT enough .

Breeders will let puppies go at 4 top 6 weeks old are NOT good breeders and those are the ones that supply pet stores /brokers .A broker or pet store cannot make money if a breeder keeps a puppy ,has a vet to give shots ,check the puppy for Parvo and other ,the reason is they cannot get the puppy cheap and resale .

Please do not buy into or from a pet store or broker .

This is our program of what we do to ensure your babies health ...

First ...Our moms and dads are all raised here at Poos-4-U .Now and again we will bring in a newby ,but we watch very close for any sign that it is unhealthy ,vicious or ill treated .

We only breed our moms once a year ,most only have 4 litters in their life and then are retired .The first litter is at or about 2 yrs old .

Socializing your puppy at the beginning is very important ,so since our moms are so loving and my vet can vouch for this ...example ...I take the moms in when the puppys get their tails docked or dewclaws removed or other and my moms lick and kiss the vet while he is doing his job to my puppies and her babies , a good mother accepts this and knows we will not harm her babies or her and mine are GREAT MOMS !

We start the social process by talking to the babies before they are born ,we touch ,we gently rub and talk as we do the moms belly ,many times my babies have come out crawling on me as much as mom while she is giving birth .

Then we love and talk and coo at them just like you would do an infant ..by the time they are 2 weeks old or less at times ,I can be talking and they try to get out of their little bed to get to me .

1st worming ...2 weeks old

2nd ..3 weeks old

3rd ...4 weeks old

4th ...5 weeks old

this is with  Pyrantel.

My vet then takes over and worms with Drontal Plus at 6 and 9 weeks old .

First shots ...5in 1 Parvo ...6 weeks

Second ...9 weeks

Third ...12 weeks ...plus rabbies and kennel cough ...

Revolution applied at 6 weeks and 9 weeks old

Albon is given as a preventive for 7 days prior to pick up .

First vet visit ...checked for worms ,heart problems ,etc

 

Second visit ...another check ...

third visit ....a complete exam  for hernias ,eye problems ,hips (although at that age is hard to determine ) ..and more ..

This is expensive ,your puppy sees my vet 4 to 6 times before they leave .Why is my prices as high as they are ...Ask your vet how much all this would cost ? ...Then there is good food ,cost of upkeep ,sites ,heat /cooling/,water,toys ,grooming tools ,emergency vet visits ,upkeep of moms and dads ...and more and more and more .If you get a cheap puppy ...BEWARE !
